DESIGN ELEMENTS

The project’s goal was to create a modern architectural identity and  branding for a new traditional bakery named "The Crunchies,"  in Athens.  "The Crunchies" aims to enhance recognizability while exuding freshness and allure.

Drawing inspiration from tradition and handmade craft, the store proposal revolves around two key pillar.Firstly, emphasis is placed on visitor interaction, with the layout inviting customers to engage with the baking process first-hand, fostering a sense of connection. Secondly, spatial and material qualities play a significant role, with the design paying homage to the tradition of wood and the intricate patterns found in weaving and grain.

The use of stack brick cladding, coloured tiles of blue hue for the beverage front, birch wood the wall structures of products and walnut wood for the iconic central counters creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Moreover, the production process takes center stage, with a workshop situated at the back of the bakery featuring transparent partitions for customers to witness the craftsmanship involved in baking. This open view not only adds to the experiential aspect but also reinforces the bakery's commitment to quality and authenticity.

Additionally, the packaging, is thoughtfully integrated into the interior decoration,, creating a cohesive and memorable brand identity, adding to the authenticity of the space.

Externally, the bakery's façade is adorned with warm-colored plaster, accented by a vibrant blue tent, instantly drawing in passers-by. The opening features a folding glass wall, merging the indoor and outdoor spaces and inviting customers to step into a world of delectable delights.
